pag. 5 Associazione Costruttori Implements ASSOMAO Foreword FederUnacoma is part of Confindustria, and is a system of businesses for the development of agricultural mechanization. It is made up of five associations representing the following manufacturing sectors: tractors and machinery, agricultural equipment and technologies, gardening machinery, park mainte- nance machinery and components. FederUnacoma is the means by which Italian companies in the agricultural mechanics industry dialogue with the institutions, and promote innovation, business culture and presence on both the national and international markets. The Assomao association sincerely thanks all the manufacturers who have participated in drafting and creating this document. The Member Companies list is intended to be a valid tool to make companies visible, and its goal is to reach all the institutional stakeholders, both Italian and foreign, to emphasize the ex- cellence of "made in Italy" goods in this sector. Assomao is the Italian implement manufacturers' association within FederUnacoma, the na- tional federation of agricultural, earthmoving and gardening machine manufacturers. Specif- ically, it is an important industrial concern in Italy and worldwide, with a relevant, structured and dynamic organization. The manufacturing that this association represents can be divided in the following mac- ro-areas: ● Tilling machinery. ● Sowing, transplanting and fertilizing machinery. ● Crop protection machinery. ● Irrigation machinery. ● Initial processing and product conservation machinery, and livestock farming machinery. ● Harvesting machinery. ● Moving and transportation machinery. The association aims to provide information, assistance and services to its members, and represent the industries in this sector in Italy and worldwide. To this end, FederUnacoma, which also represents Assomao, has relations with national and European ministries, organizations and bodies to present and support the demands of the sector and contribute to mechanical regulatory evolution. It also has relations with the corre- sponding international trade associations in order to exchange information, trends and fore- casts, and to define common platforms. Italian implement manufacturing covers a very wide range of goods offering highly innovative and specialized technological solutions. Such solutions are suitable for cultivation at any lati- tude because they were developed to meet the specific needs of the Italian agricultural land, which features significant morphological variations. FOREWORD MISSION The interests of implement manufacturers that are members of Assomao are among the main goals of FederUnacoma, which aim to: ● Encourage the development and use of increasingly inno- vative and efficient agricultural machinery, both in Italy and abroad. ● Promote worldwide technological development and renew- al of mechanical inventory. ● Support its associates by providing assistance in the form of innovative and competitive services aimed at meeting their needs. ACTIVITY Assomao is responsible for identifying and promoting initiatives specifically for implement manufacturers with- in the framework of the activities carried out mainly by FederUnacoma, related to technical and design, eco- nomics and statistics, assistance, promotion and com- munication. This provides a concerted "cultural and spe- cialist" action to promote the value of mechanisation as a social and economic growth factor to external stakehold- ers, both institutional and professional. Within the product category covered by Assomao, FederUnacoma provides the following specific services: ● Technical and regulatory assistance and training. ● Internationalization activities. ● Economic and statistical analysis. ● Collaboration with the institutions. TECHNICAL AND REGULATORY ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING ● Performs the role of interface between the design, research and development, and production offices of member com- panies and the applicable institutional world. ● Takes parts in technical activities conducted by the Europe- an industry associations. ● Has relations with the Italian institutions to define national provisions, transposition of Community legislation and as- sess issues related to market control activities. ● Collaborates with research institutes, test laboratories and universities to promote research activities and specific tech- nical services for the member companies. ● Provides member companies with support in applying and updating safety, environmental protection and road type-ap- proval regulations and standards. ● Organizes workshops and seminars on specific topics for the represented sector. INTERNATIONALIZATION ● Prepares reports, studies and surveys on foreign countries to support international business of the companies. ● Creates, implements and assists in promotion initiatives abroad, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Devel- opment and the former ICE Agency. ● Organizes meetings and conventions in foreign coun- tries to promote companies and their products among international operators. ● Organizes visits to member companies by foreign opera- tor delegations. ● Takes part as an institution at international trade fairs. ECONOMICAL AND STATISTICAL ANALYSIS Prepares statistical studies and economical and financial information on industry trends. COLLABORATION WITH THE INSTITUTIONS ● Collaborates with the Italian institutions to draw up the "For- mer ICE Agency Promotional Plan" for allocation of public funding to support promotional activities abroad. ● Prepares schemes, analyses and proposals at an institu- tional level to activate economic policies that support the sector. ● Takes part in preparing proposals and technical standards to define new laws and new provisions related to design and construction of machinery. english
